Our Process

From paddy to rice.

Six deliberate stages stand between the field and your kitchen — all of them under one roof, none of them skipped.

The Six Stages

Nothing rushed. Nothing skipped.

Because intake, milling, grading and packing all happen in the same facility, we can hold quality at every handover instead of hoping for the best between three different contractors.

STAGE 01

Paddy intake

Paddy arrives from partner farms across the Karur belt and the delta. Each lot is weighed, sampled for moisture and visually graded before we agree to buy it. Lots that do not meet the mark go back the same day — we would rather turn away a truckload than mill a batch we cannot stand behind.

  • Weighbridge entry for every lot
  • Moisture sampled before unloading
  • Lot-wise record kept for traceability

STAGE 02

Cleaning & de-stoning

Paddy passes over vibrating sieves and through aspirators that lift away husk, straw and light dust, then through a de-stoner that drops out sand and small stones. This is the stage that decides whether your rice is clean — everything after it just polishes what is left.

  • Stones and sand removed by de-stoner
  • Husk and straw separated by aspiration
  • Dust extracted from the line, not the room

STAGE 03

Milling & polishing

Multi-stage shelling and polishing, run on settings chosen for the variety rather than one setting for everything. Gentler passes mean fewer broken grains, a better finish and more whole rice in the bag you buy.

  • Settings tuned per variety
  • Multi-pass polishing to reduce breakage
  • Silky, even finish with no chalky patches

Steaming & parboiling

For Ponni, boiled and idli grades, paddy is soaked and steam-parboiled before milling. The grain firms up from the inside, takes on its golden colour and cooks without turning sticky — the reason parboiled rice behaves so well in South Indian kitchens.

  • Controlled soak and steaming time
  • Even colour across the batch
  • Firmer grain, less stickiness when cooked

Grading & colour sorting

Length graders separate full grain from broken, then optical colour sorters look at every single grain and eject anything discoloured, chalky or immature. This is the stage where an ordinary lot becomes a uniform one.

  • Length grading for uniform grain
  • 100% of output colour sorted
  • Batches matched for colour and length

Quality check & packing

A final cook test and visual check clear the batch. Then it is sealed, check-weighed and labelled — in retail packs from 1 kg, trade bags of 26 kg and 50 kg, or under your own brand name if you are a distributor.

  • Cook test and visual release per batch
  • Sealed food-grade packing
  • Retail, trade and private-label lines
The Facility

18 tonnes a day, without cutting corners.

Modern machinery does the heavy lifting. Experienced millers decide when a batch is ready — and they are the ones who sign it off.

Consistency

The same bag, every single month.

For a hotel or a shop, changing rice is a real cost — new cooking times, new customer complaints, new wastage. So we work hard to make sure the bag you receive next month behaves exactly like the one you received this month.

Same varieties from the same belt, same milling settings, retained samples for comparison, and a check before dispatch. Boring, reliable consistency is the highest compliment a rice mill can earn.

  • Retained sample compared with new batches
  • Committed dispatch dates for trade orders
  • Same milling settings, batch after batch
